OK, the quoting thing is wasting bandwith, Qosis.

Before this gets really ugly, let's just squash it...or continue via PM, your choice.

1. Money. Nobody that I know has enough. I work a whole lot, b/c I enjoy being able to go places, buy things and not have count pennies. I'm not rich. Neither are you, I'd imagine.

2. My opinon. <--it's mine. You have yours. How nice for both of us. Unless this is a court of law, nobody is legally correct. Morally? Doesn't really matter to me, since you don't pay my bills. I don't pay yours either. In fact, last time I checked, nobody here at AT payed anyone else's bills either...I take it my point is understood?

3. I do enjoy a good debate. :) I'm not pissed off. If you are, PM me and we can discuss further.

I throw my opinion out there for the world to see; condemnation be damned.

Others feel they must be either "Judge, Jury and Executioner" or "the voice of the politically correct masses."

Why choose to condemn people for their thoughts? Reading too much Orwell will do that to you. Think for yourself, dammit.

Many do... I know I, for one, do.

The difference is... some of us also possess this particular trait known as "compassion".

That's all.

:(

In order to have compassion one must have direct knowledge of it,I suspect Michael has seen little true compassion and feeling aimmed in his direction over the course of his lifetime. There's all sorts of accidents that can result in human wreckage, unfortunately some of em leave the victim still walking and talking:(

You state ya gotta work two jobs. How many people who actually have a job that takes a certain amount of intelligence (which will of course pay decent money in return) work two jobs? How many executives, or doctors do you see working two jobs?

If I guess right can I have a cookie?

My guess for job number one is a telemarketer.
My guess for job number two is a security guard (one of the ones that watches a cameras to see if there's any intruders...so you're a wannabe of a wannabe cop essentially.)

OK. I'll take back the comment about your mom so she can rest easy, tonight. I must have been thinking about your dog. :Q

Harvey, you're not as slick as you believe yourself to be. Animals aren't my thing. Neither is talking about someone's Mother. Obviously, you are vainly attempting to hit a nerve. You're not blue in the face yet; keep trying. Heh.

Hah, wait a second.

I just read longer into that post...You're a *constrains himself from laughing* you're a damn tour guide as one of your jobs.

Now, lets see what google can tell us about requirements to be a tour guide.

I went to a few websites and they stated.

"Applicants usually should be 23+, but no secondary or tertiary education is required."

Now, what is your next excuse gonna be? You're really a damn genius, but you wanted a job which didn't test your intellectual capacity.

Now please, tell me where you're a tour guide. I'd like you to be guide me on my next trip, is cleaning peoples plates after they eat dinner at the restaurants while on tour included in your job.

So, this girl is an actor who was a Yale student...You are a tourist guide in one of your jobs, and you won't disclose what the other is (which probably means it is worse than beign a tour guide...is that even possible?). Who is the one holding down the pathetic job...well, in your case, jobs.

Hey, how cool; you have the basic skills necessary to work a search engine! Congratulations.

Yes, I work two jobs. I have the desire to better myself. And you? Do you support yourself, or do you live with your parents? I've been on my own for more than half my life. Not proud, just factual.

My jobs aren't important. Neither is my opinion to anyone else but me. The fact that you choose to butt heads with me is great. Intellectual stimulation is always provoking in one way or another.

Apparently, you believe yourself to be on some higher moral/financial/physical/mental plane than I; we all have our delusions, huh?

For some reason, you feel that you must the Champion here...whatever. You feel that I've no feelings, that I"m superior, etc. That's not the case. I just have a fat mouth and am not afraid to butt heads with wanna-be intellectuals like yourself. I don't profess to be any more intelligent than the average Joe. I just voice my opinion.

Well, just to add a little more information as I cruise down that thread.

You are correct; I do. It wasn't crappy when I moved in there five years ago, though.

For the amount I would pay in rent for a two-bedroom townhome (with a garage), I can buy a house, which is what I'll have before the end of this year. That's why I stay in the sh1thole I live in.

The apt itself isn't that bad, physically. It's the neighbors and the neighborhood.
--------

So, to recap.

You hold 2 jobs down, the one you disclose is a tour guide, you won't say what the other is. You live in a crappy 1 bedroom apartment. You even later state that you'd prefer not to do the 2nd job, but you have to (shows you lack financial stability, although you live in a piece of junk apartment. So that must mean your earnings from your jobs are just utterly dispicible.)

Ha, laugh all you want buddy. If it wasn't profitable, I wouldn't be doing it. If you've ever been to a NICE NYC hotel, and have dealt with a Conceirge, you'll understand. People "that know things/places" about their home town make the bucks with tourists.

It's called "professionalism and tact." Maybe you should try it someday instead of yelling out of your ass at people you don't know.

You are going to better yourself as a tour guide? You are the equivelant of a rickshaw driver. How are you different from one? You take orders from people of where they want to go for meager earnings.

Well, I am on a far higher moral plane than you...considering I do not insult people who are likely to lose their lives. This is what us intellectual people call dispicible. But then again, we have compassion for you. Stupidity is infact your number one trait. On a financial plane I am far higher than you. While holding one job I still own 2 cars (one of which is a Mercedes Benz C230). On a physical level, I don't see how I insulted you about your physical appearance...but I am sure you must be in pretty good shape after leading people all around in your tour guide job all day...must be a very strenuous job on the mind.

You're fading fast, son. Your next step is name-calling. You can attempt to poke fun at me all you want.

Possibly, you are paying a mortage on a house (I doubt it though). I will be there by the end of summer. I stay where I'm at b/c it's cheap. I could very easily pay 2x what I'm paying now to live in a "nice apartment in a nice 'hood." But why? For that money, I can buy a house. That's what I'm attempting to do.

If my being honest about my aspirations is fodder for your "hate cannon" then fine, fire away. Cotton balls at a steel plate. <--used it twice just b/c.

Ill jump in, if you two don't mind. I completely understand where Michael is coming from. How many other people were shot today, yesterday, the day before. What makes her any different? Oh, she was Ivy-League educated, blond, pretty...but she is still a human like the rest of the those poor souls who were shot. Why should she get any more time in the news than they do. What about the 3 y/o child starving to death in Africa or the family who had their parents taken out of their home and executed, so they are left to be refugees in another country. There are 6,000,000,000+ people in this world, and many die every day for any number of reasons.

Yes, it is terribly sad that this happened. I pray that she lives, but I agree this is sensationalism.

It's so great that we assume so much about people we have no real knowledge of. You have no idea who I am or what I really do. Possibly, everything you are saying is a falsehood. The same is a possiblility with anyone on the internet.

Unlike you, I don't feel the need to do a search for everything you have posted in the past week.

Your life is yours, man. Mine is mine. Why can't you see that instead of trying to be Mr. Bigshot? Remember, I merely voiced my opinion (two hours ago) you're the one "who went there."

But hey, I'll be up all night.

Hey, I would probably say the same thing, being outside the conversation. I wasn't the one that chose to attack another member.

I might not agree with something somebody says, but there are respectful ways to voice that feeling and then there's Qosis.

Point taken. It sucks (IMO) that it sunk almost that low. I offered a PM truce. It wasn't taken. Tell you what, I'll leave.

I already apologized to psteng19 for hijacking his thread. Mike out.

That's correct. Your opinion is important. So is everyone else's. Some folks don't understand that and choose to lamely attempt to publically embarass others.

Whatever. I'm out.
