I'm trying to find ways in my 'projected' DIY setup to cut back a little bit, cause XP Pro isn't cheap...and no I don't have a copy lying around...So first thought was the Case/PSU. I had the Coolermaster Praetorian selected with a 420w thermaltake PSU, but I'm thinking of switching it to the Aspire X-Dreamer II case that has an internal 350w PSU price is 58? on newegg compared to 140ish for the Cooler Master plus the PSU.

Any owners out there that have any opinions on it? Personally I think it looks pretty cool, cooling looks decent (top and side mount fans stock, and options to add 1 front and rear fan).

Thanks in advance.

i got one in Feb .. . . cool looking, plenty of room and i didn't cut myself. :)

HOWEVER, the PS is your average "generic" - 350w Turbolink . . .. i eventually upgraded to a TT 480w (although i never got the 6800ultra) . . . .

SO, if you are trying to save money you need to determine if your power needs will be met by this PS . . .

i was really "short" at the time i bought it and will undoubtedly use the Turbolink PS in a build for a less-demanding friend . . . so it worked out ok. ;)

marginal "thumbs up"

out of all the builds i have done recently, it has to be the cheapest feeling case. Also, the PSU in my died in 2 months.
It is nice looking on the outside, but i always feel like it can dent easy.

My favorite budget case is the Antec 3700AMB. It also comes with a Antec 350W PSU, not to bad IMO.

Eh, it looks like a decent case...well it probably is...but it looks to plain to me. I know I know, looks aren't everything, but plain jane cases bore me.

I'll probably buy the Aspire case, then upgrade to a thermaltake PSU, or something along those lines.
