Aspire 5670 Touchpad problems

I have an urgent problem requiring my touchpad, I don't have a mouse so tabbing is getting very annoying. I was listening to music and it froze so I had to hold down the power button to restart my computer. Now the touchpad isn't working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but still doesn't work. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not sure how freezing and the touchpad are related, but it stopped after that. This is a bit urgent because I have final exams coming up and I need to use the comp for notes/practice tests/etc. and I don't have the time to send it in right now. I tried my friends USB mouse and it works fine, but I don't have the extra cash to shell out for a usb mouse unless I have to. (that's like 4 meals for me!) Thanks in advance.

p.s. I posted in the other thread but its old and long and this is urgent

you can buy a mouse for $1 most likely... just buy a cheap pos until your exams are over. I'm sorry but I do not know anything about mice

Am I going to have any trouble getting them to fix it after exams? I've never had to send anything in, so I'm not exactly sure how all that stuff works....any help?
