Is adaptec's ASPI needed for a clean install of Windows XP SP2 Professional?
I use nero to burn, and put ASPI on from adaptec, and its corrupted. No clue if I need it or how to get rid of it.
 
Don't worry about it at all. Nero's ASPI should be working, and as long as your optical drives show up in device manger, you are good to go. Adaptec's latest ASPI is FUBAR, as 2 of the files are "Compressed" when you unzip the file, but no worries, you shouldn't need it.
