Has anyone here used asp.net someone was tellimg me that asp sites can be developed regular visual basic. Actually from my understandig .net supports several languages.

No, not "regular" Visual Basic, it's Visual Basic.NET. There's a rather huge difference between the two. Yes, .NET supports many, many languages at the moment.
