"Should I ask her out?"

It's been about 15 years since my buddies and I started asking each other this very same question. With 196 replies thus far to the other thread on this topic, I think it's something many guys here have on their mind as well. So here's my four cents (this will be a long post, so I'm giving double)!

Should you ask her out? The answer is almost always YES! Dude, YES, ask her out as soon as you can! Otherwise you'll just torment yourself with regret and questions. Why am I so quick to say YES? Because the question is so basic. You're not asking if you should write her a song. You're not asking if you should get married. You're not asking if the two of you should make a baby. As long as you don't think she's dangerous, then go for it. Ask her out. Have lunch together. Have a fun evening together. Just ask her out.

I made up my mind long ago to quit worrying about this question and just start asking gals out. No, I'm not the pimp daddy, and I'm not the ultimate playa. But I am a guy that now knows a lot of gals and has made many great friends in the process.

I think the question you might be asking is "should I strike up a romantic relationship with her?". Well... that's a totally different question! One that you yourself are going to have to give some thought to. But don't go overboard. I personally think it all boils down to one inner question: "am I currently ready to have a romantic relationship?".

I believe there are many times in our lives when we aren't ready for a romantic relationship. Perhaps you have a dead end job and your car is about to die and you're broke. Probably a bad time to start something serious. Maybe you're currently carrying some baggage from a previous relationship, stress at work, or family problems. Or maybe you just have too much going on in your life at the moment. Striking up a relationship at this point in time might just be a recipe for doom. And finally, maybe you have religious or social issues to consider.

Guys, just have fun. Make friends with the ladies. Get to know them. Don't be afraid to ask them out. And if you think she's the right type and you think you're ready, don't be afraid to try to strike up that romantic relationship. If she says no, or if the whole thing blows up in your face, don't worry about it for too long. Move on. Meet more new people. Make friends. Have fun.

Hope this helps!

I can be pretty long winded. Bottom line: ASK HER OUT. Even if there are no romantic sparks, you may still end up with a great new friend.

I have the attention span of a three-year-old and like crapping in threads.

Fixed it for you.

Heh

Good advice, though. Won't stop any YAGTs in the end, I think.

It's kinda wierd. For some reason, I used to hesitate (now I'm married). i was always affraid of rejection and that the gal would be offended for some reason.

When in doubt, just remember. Even if hte ugliest girl asks you out, you would be flattered. Even if you turn the date down.
