Ask nVidia anything

Hey, I was at http://www.frostytech.com and I saw this at their main page........

Basically, the geeks, er... viewers ask their questions and http://www.VideoCardDrivers.com will select the top 15 questions (or more depending on if they are good) and then submit them to nVidia for their review.

I know what I'm gonna ask them. I'm gonna ask "How does it feel being the Microsoft of Video Cards 🙂"

hehehe!!!

My question would be ,when is the NV20 coming? I want month, date, hour, minute,oh & specs or is that two questions?

heh!! Good question.

I would ask them something along the lines of.......

"Seeing the fact that memory bandwidth is an issue, does nVidia plan on using Tile Based rendering in it's future cards"

🙂

My thoughts exactly........

The card would rock @$$!!! 🙂

In fact I am sure that they can achieve a heck of a lotta performance out of the GeForce 2 modified to work with tile based rendering.

After all, the GeForce 2 is hella powerful, but mem bandwidth is limiting it SEVERELY!

They're more like the AMD of video cards. They kinda came out of nowhere and are working towards dominating the 3D performance market.

Besides, if NVidia were the Microsoft of video cards, they would crash periodically, contain numerous bugs, be replaced by a not-very-improved version every two years, and would certainly not work under Linux. 😛

Nah, Nvidia isn't the AMD of video cards, 3DFX is. Well... WAS.

Now their letting it get to their head. During their prime (Voodoo 1/2) they were like AMD, but now they suck and think that anything they do is right (FSAA), and everything that they do everyone else will follow and like (FSAA).

no? what about this..

Will the X-Box platform delay any of nVidia's cards for the computer? seeing as the date for the NV25 is next year spring, and the X-Box is second half of the same year...

Hmmm, how about-

Are there any technologies on the horizon that will replace/advance AGP to the point that we will be able to utilize the significantly faster and more flexible T&L units or is moving towards an alternate technique along the lines of keyframe interpolation going to be the only option for progress in this aspect for the forseeable future?
