I eat Jasmine rice, but I think if sushi rice is cooked well, then it's really good...
Jasmine rice = thinner, drier, while sushi rice is a little fatter. By sushi rice Ido not mean that it is sticky, but rather the grain is the same type as rice used in sushi.
I grew up on sushi rice, but my parents never cooked it that well (Too much water I guess) and it left me a horrible impression of sushi rice, so I went with whatever my roommates cooked last year (jasmine rice).
Edit: Plain white rice can be either. They serve sushi rice as white rice at Korean/Japanese restaurants. They sell it at Costco too, and it's like Kohuko Rose or Nishiki. That stuff is sushi rice. Jasmine rice is the ones in the bags with all sorts of Asian languages (Thai, Viet, CHinese, etc)
