Asian popularity peaked in the 90's, was killed by hipsterism and beard worship.

Asians got really popular in the 90's, they excelled at school, especially math. Import tuner cars became very popular especially in California.

There were movies like Fast and the Furious starring asian actors.

But then beard popularity came along, and Asian males generally lack natural facial hair, hence the decline in most things Asian in terms of it's appeal in popular culture.

Ignoring the obvious stupidity and racism of these comments, do you think there is any truth here? I can't help but feel Asian popularity in terms of it's relevance to pop culture hit it's peak 15-20 years ago and has been in decline ever since beard worship became a thing.

Its devolving just as I thought.

Honestly, I consider Indian and Asian to be completely different.

I hate it when people lump East Asians (e.g. Chinese, Indonesians) in with Indians AND peoples of the Middle East. The difference is just too big to just call them all "Asian."

No different than when people lump "the west"(read white) together. People should probably be more precise when they speak.

I think it's just ignorance really.

It's the same when people with brown skin are called black when they actually some other ethnicity.
