Ashevile North Carolina

There's the Biltmore House (260 or so rooms of a rather nice c. 1896 mansion, real American nobility.) Of course, that may not be your thing. As I recall, they do have some good ice cream at a creamery associated with the place.

Otherwise there's lots of shopping downtown--mostly artsy things done by the ex-hippie crowd. Good if you have any back-to-nature female friends to get presents for.

Hope others can come up with something more amusing.
 
You got hendersonville like 20min away, isn't horrible not much night life but some stores. If you want the little brick buildings and cute little town try Brevard, like restaurant there too.
 
there's probably alot of things to od on in asheville. You can probably get some nice sleeping pills at the local walgreens.
