$1600 a hour. He uses it to go fishing too. Oh yeah, he was "advised" to fly private charter jets for the rest of his term. Security threat my a$$! Some much for telling travellers to go back to "normal".

While I think Aschcroft is a dingleberry and he is an extremist, he has a good chance of someone trying to kill him. George W. needs to find another AG. If he runs with Ashcroft again I will be hard pressed to vote for him.

The Justice Department insists that it wasn't Ashcroft who wanted to fly leased aircraft. That idea, they said, came strictly from Ashcroft's FBI security detail. The FBI had no further comment.

Sounds OK to me, I have no problem paying my portion of the bill.

Well if there is a legitimate security threat using a private jet isn't that out of line. He is a much higher profile figure than say the secretary of labor or commerce.

I don't have as much respect for him as I used to, I find it hard to trust him. But if it is a valid threat, I agreet that he should be flying private charters, however, I really doubt it costs $1600 an hour. My brother works for a local airport that leases gulfstreams for $600, and they're still making bank on it.

I wish there was a way for the US people to perform an audit on the us budget policy. It would probably take too much time and man power to be worth anything, but I for one am sick of getting screwed come tax time.

Given 9/11 I don't think this is unreasonable. And I can't help but recall Hillary Clinton's extensive use of taxpayer dollars to fly her and many of her friends to Africa and other countries around the world on site-seeing trips.
