You might have it appraised if you plan to sell it. People will want to know the size and grade of the rock. The size of the band can be determined pretty easily from any jeweler.
 
try to sell it back to the jeweler that you got the ring from, you will most likely get the best offer there. good luck!

There are some jewelers that might take it back for in-store credit, which you may want to consider.

That way, when Ms. Right comes along, you'll already have a large chunk of money put down toward the engagement ring.

Married? Girlfriend? Any relationships?

It doesn't have to make sense to a guy for it to make sense to a girl. Fighting it is a waste of time and will only make things harder.

Speaking of engagement rings in particular; women talk. The ring will definitely be subject of talk. They'll either talk about how it's too big, or how it's too small. I'd prefer they say it's too big.
