AS5 Thermal Epoxy?

Sheesh, this stuff works great but have you removed your heatsink after using it a couple weeks? I pulled my huge Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu off to swap processors and the damned processor was glued to the heatsink. Processor came right out with the heatsink with the locking arm still locked in place. I had to pry the processor free.

Yea, I guess the stuff gets pretty sticky after getting warm. Is your CPU a P4?

Yes, a 2.8C .. The pins are pretty short so I guess its not hard to pull them out.

Yea, I've heard of a few people with P4's doing this. I think it happens cuz of the heatspreader and the increased surface area/contact.

That makes sense.. Just kinda takes you by surprise when you pull off your heatsink and see no processor in the socket.. LOL

Please tell me your not using epoxy between your cpu and hsf!

You should be using AS5 regular thermal compound.

Yes Im using regular AS5, I was just commenting that it was LIKE an Epoxy the way it sticks to the heatsink..

lol, it sounded like you were using epoxy, and i've never had any of those problems with artic silver
