i got some AS3 on my CPU's brown stuff (AXP 1700+ JIUHB 310WPMW), i think its called the CPU ceramic according to AS's website. I also got some stuff on the HS (AX-7) where it doesn't touch the die, i think it may touch those little ridge things on the top of the CPU, but i can't verify that

i tried to clean off both, still is some on the ceramic, but barely visible, but on my HSF, there is quite a bit i couldn't get off and i still have it on there, and im about to boot up my comp...should i rechceck and try to clean it off, or are these mishaps fine?
thanks

AS3 is supposed to be non conductive, but it can be a bit. As long as the AS3 isnt on the bridges (the little metal pieces that are on the sides of the processor) you should be fine. If it is on the bridges, clean it off the best you can. The AS3 on the ceramic shouldnt hurt anything. Have you tried isopropyl alcohol to remove the AS3 on the heat sink? It usually works well.

AS3 is conductive, but like BG said, it shouldn't be much of a problem as long as it doesnt touch the bridges. AS Ceramique is non-conductive same like Arctic Alumina.

problem solved!
there was like adhesive stuff on the bottom of the heatsink in contact with the CPU, i cleaned it off and i seem to be able to work my comp now

thanks

AS3 is NOT conductive (electrically), but it could act like a capacitor.
