As we approach the magical 100k member plateau...do you remember how many people were members when you first joined?

I remember when there was less than 2000 members here. The big thing was " OMG There are almost 10000 members now!" Man, whoddathunkit? I think that the 100,000th member should get one of those fancy trips to Myrtle Beach that I keep seeing advertised here. Or maybe a keychain. We've got to do something to commemorate the historic event!

Well my profile ID is 15,171 so I'm assuming there were 15,070 people before I joined AT?

Is that accurate?

You know, I think that number has reached a plateau. I've been here for about 2 years and the number of people logged in at any time hasn't increased with the number of registered. I remember it being approximately 1% of registered people logged in, but now its more like 0.5%.

Marty, yea, I think you're right. It might have something to do with how slow the site becomes for non-subscribers during peak hours though. I dunno, just speculating.

Damn. You have the infamous "Joined Oct 1999" under your name, which means you were a member of the old AT Forums before The Great Crash of Oct 1999. Yet, you have 230 posts. Either you visit like four times a month, or you have another alias, which is prolly around Lifer status at this point.

MichaelD has spoken...one of my above guesses is correct! ;)

Oh, I got here "In the middle, sometime."

In internet time?.many milleniums ago.

It was in the early/mid 97 after an article introducing Anand from Tom?s Hardware. I became a permanent resident after the disappearance of Tweakit.com & The BrotherHood of the CPU site.

Those days was great, because you can chat with Anand at The BrotherHood of the CPU regarding OC & technology were you can teach & learn from him a thing or 2 regarding computer.

Well, I came here when Voodoo Extreme was going down.(I think that was the name of the site) I started coming around here after checking out their forums, because they talked about Anand a lot. Now here I am. I drive a truck for a living and my hours are like 2am to 11 am. So I dont spend too much time on the computer when I could be sleeping instead. And yes,I was a memeber before the great crash. I used to hang out in the hardware forum because I was just getting into bulding my own rig. One day I ventured over here and havent left. I dont post much, but I am here practically every day.
