Ok, I was able to boot the PC3200 stick at 400MHz with 2-3-3-7. It got into Windows and seemed to be doing fine. Then I ran Memtest 3.0 to make sure. That's where it all went downhill.
400MHz at 2-3-3-7, which is what it is advertised as (CAS2), generated over 100,000 errors.
375MHz at 1.5-2-2-7, which is what I was running and thought to be stable, generated over 1000 errors.
375MHz at 2-3-3-7 also generated over 1000 errors.
In short, this memory that is advertised as PC3200 DDR400 CAS2, does not perform as such. I will most definitely be calling them now, and demanding my money back. For those of you who think the memory is running fine in your machines, as I had thought it was in my machine, make sure you run Memtest to see if there are any errors. Bad memory can lead to corrupted hard drives in some cases.
