What were your bad experiences while working in the yard. I'll start with three I can think of off hand...

I was home by myself for the day, when I got a call that my aunt was bringing home a Redwood from SoCal, and that I had to dig the hole for it, immediatley! Needless to say I had a few alcoholic beverages in me.. I wasn't drunk or anything, but have any of you had to work in the hot sun while under the influence?

I guess my mom scheduled for a get-together to be today, but the yard looks like crap. So on Friday, an hour before it gets dark, she tells me it needs to be done! Mind you, the party is today (Saturday) at 10:00am. I did what little I could last night, and this morning she wakes me up at the butt crack of ugly (6am, I went to sleep at 3am), and starts nagging for me to get the yards done. Have you ever had to trim a tree while extremely tired? I ended up cutting the extention cord and nearly shocking myself to death. Hence me being in the house right now, and not doing more work. I'm going to have to end up going back out, but I thought I would rant first....

I'm going to be very happy when I move to an apartment and don't have a damn acre yard!

Well, no really bad experiences, but the first time I tried to mow the grass, I managed to trash the garden hose. Oops.

I'm suprised no one has had any bad experiences with yard work. I remember another bad experience with my yard. I was pretty young, and I'd been using the 'weed whacker' for a few weeks now. For some reason someone started talking to me, and I turned to acknowledge them. Long story short, my hands seemed to want to go in the general direction of where I was looking, and the damn 'string' that goes flinging around and around found my leg. I was just glad I was wearing jeans, and that it was our electric 'weed whacker.'

Oh, just pray that 'lawn man' also does the weeds, trims the trees, rakes the drives, sweeps the cement, cleans the windows & cobwebs, etc, for no extra cost...

Lol, are you going to rake the leaves in the fall? And plant a garden in the spring? There's a lot of work involved when it comes to a yard. ;)

Hehe, well if you figure it out, lmk, the yard gets a lot of weeds. :p

You should see the garden. I planted squash, cucumber, pumpkin, tomatoes, peppers, etc. The tomatoes and peppers are growing just fine. However, the rest are just weird. I pulled a "squmpkin" out of the garden yesterday. It's yellow like a squash and bumpy and shaped like a pumpkin. Then there are the "Squcumbers," which are colored and shaped like a cucumber, but taste like squash. And then there are the random pansys growing in the midst of the garden (they were planted last year, but came back, and they were supposed to have been tomatoes, but they were pansies instead).

I love working in my yard. I have 3 gardens in the back and one in the front. they are finally at the point that I just have to water and enjoy for the rest of the summer :)

Oh, except for that hedge I want to put in this fall heh

I just turned a 12'x8'x5' high pile of mulch left by a tree cutting service into a smaller pile of smaller mulch (I re-ran it through the chipper/shreader for my mom). It took 3 tanks of gas to get this Troy Built 10HP one to do all that. I'm going to be sore tomorrow for sure.

14 years old while mowing the neighbors grass for $25 a rock flies out of the lawnmower and tags me in the eye. Scratched cornea, and I had to wear a patch over my eye for several days. Sucked watching football with one eye that weekend.

Lol. Well, I ate a "squcumber," and it hasn't killed me yet so I guess it's ok. What should I plant next year, lol? :p
