As if we needed another reason to hate Google...

I was wondering why I couldnt find guns or ammo on their shopping page any more.

Oh, and google is a private company, not a government service. They can do as they please.

PLUS, their company is all hippy ultra libs so this shouldnt even be a surprise.

If Google was actually preventing people from buying guns maybe it'd be news, but they're not. Just don't use their Shopping service...

Well of course they can do as they please, doesn't mean I can't dislike them for it;) And not entirely surprising they feel that way but so much for being in any way whatsoever "neutral" in their business practices

They've actually been modifying their search results for many years, this really isnt news.

Nope, "censoring" mail-order guns from their shopping channel does not give me a reason to hate them.

Google "buy gun online" = "About 174,000,000 results (0.31 seconds)". Search engine censorship not found.

Its funny they removed guns and ammo, but not knives or pepper spray. To their credit I couldn't find rat poison or porn so they are trying somewhat to keep it family friendly.

I did a search the other day and got a notice that they were turning Google Shooping into a commercial venture. I'm guessing they are going to try and take on Amazon and become the front end for e-tailers to sell through. As a private company they can dictate what is sold through their site. Doesn't mean I have to like it and thus won't shop through them.
