They're almost certainly not dire wolves.

And these are gene-modified gray wolves, so they're not dire wolves. In any case they're nowhere near a size where any reasonable gun would be ineffective.

Also every one of the Jurassic Park movies radically overestimate how hard it would be to kill dinosaurs. We would slaughter them for sport.

I dunno man.. we can't even catch rapists, thieves, serial killers..

Raptors would have a field day vs us.

You know what also went extinct? Ethical Republicans. Just went extinct. Crazy. I don't see them coming back anytime soon though.

What do you mean we can’t catch them? The issue with catching criminals is that they generally look just like anyone else. It would not be difficult to notice if something is a raptor.

First, the ones in the movies aren’t real dinosaurs. Second, we would annihilate them with ease. A single APC could kill hundreds or even thousands of them depending on how much ammo and gas it had. This would not be a difficult problem to solve, at least insofar as eradicating dinosaurs large enough to threaten humans is concerned.

The first movie mostly solved for this by the humans not having guns. (Or few of them) The second movie solved for this by making dinosaurs magically immune to bullets.

Maybe you're right that it's hard to find crypto thieves since they blend in with everyone else but what I'm saying is it's much easier to kill a large sized dinosaur that's easy to locate and track like a T-Rex.

But if some sort of small in size apex predator like Raptors escape and can breed easily.. we have a massive invasion problem just like with Burmese Pythons.

To eradicate small sized invasive species is actually quite hard!

Crichton may have called them Velociraptors, but the animals he described were based off Deinonychus.

Velociraptors were much smaller, but Chrichton thought their name sounded more badass.

Also, there is literally no evidence to suggest that either genus were abnormally intelligent.

I always had a headcanon that the design of dinosaurs in the JP movie were designer dinos, specifically engineered for the park, not intended to reflect real animals but instead to elicit a desired response from park-goers, probably ones who thought a giant murder lizard was more impressive than an 8' chicken in market polling.

Everything in the park was a genetic engineered monstrosity as it was, so it'd be trivial to design them to be memorable.

Yes, and the maybe some of it was due to the hermaphroditic frog dna lol.
