As always - 0g carbs!!!

I find this on the top of my jar of mayo. Come on, its nearly pure fat, and they are trying to pass it off as healthy. This Atkins sh!t really needs to stop.

well, they're telling the truth.

😉

its the current diet fad and it too shall pass when the next "this one really works!" comes along.

People are stupid now. Much of the fat, retarded public thinks that just because some people lost weight on zero carbs, suddenly anything with zero carbs is free food.

I had a roommate who was on atkins. Whenever he had a can of tuna he would just put whole tablespoons of mayo in the bowl to mix it with. I would say "aren't you on a diet"? His reply was "as long as I don't put it on bread I'm fine."

Right.

Kinda like the two IMMENSE women I overheard in the store the other day pondering why fried pork rinds don't have carbs (while loading their cart with them...since they're "doing Atkins" and all).

"Does that have any carbs in it? Because I'm on a special diet."

Hey great idea....
I bet pork rinds are good dipped in mayo.............

zero carbs:laugh:

capitalism as its best, or worse, depending how you benefit from it.

all in all, the low carb thing is kind of getting out of hand. However, I'm all for the use of splenda over table sugar.

Right.

ppl dont care about long term health concerns as long as they're "losing all this weight."

Anyone else notice the changes in the voiceovers for SUV ads lately? Instead of "NOW WITH AN EARTH-CRUSHING MAGNUM HEMI-MEGA-SUPER-TURBO V8!!" it's "GETS UP TO 500 MILES PER TANK!!!". Kinda the same thing since they don't bother to tell you that the damn thing has a 30-gallong tank that'll run you $50 at the pump. 😛

The general public is far too disinterested in real facts to bother with such particulars. One needs read only the average study on CNN in the health section to understand that most of the readers couldn't care less about actual numbers. They want everything distilled down to a single, meaningless sentence.

Stop posting until you do even the smallest amount of research about why Atkins works.

Yeah, because losing weight has no long term benefits.

Seriously. The only people who post in these "bash Atkins" threads, are people who don't have a clue as to why it works. And I'll bet that 90%+ of the people have never attempted to lose a significant amount of weight.

I've done research. I'm aware of how Atkins works. That doesn't mean Mayo is healthy, and that's how the jar is trying to depict it.

dedphul, this isn't an 'atkins is great' or 'atkins sucks' thread, its a 'mayo isnt healthy and atkins is making fatasses think that it is' thread. Sharp difference.

Yep. My neighbor has been on atkins for about 6 months now; he's lost 30+ lbs, but his cholesterol doubled. He also likes to list off the myriad bacon/eggs/etc he eats every day. Hmm.........

Most people don't have a high enough good cholesterol (HDL) and too high of a bad cholesterol (LDL). People on a Low-carb diet tend to increase HDL and lower LDL. In general their cholestrol is higher but it's the good one (which scrubs the arteries), so I fail to see how his cholesterol going up is a bad thing. It's misleading information like that which makes me discount critics of low-carb. From everyone I have talked to that follows the plans correctly (that includes the excersize) not only do they lose weight but their critical indicators of health in their blood tests improve dramatically.
