As a PS3/360 owner, I think PSN games are better

Is someone really going to cry about which games are better? If so, that person needs to get some fresh air.

I want you to take a deep breath and realize what you're doing... I mean it.

I think the offerings are more unique like Pixeljunk Eden and Monsters, and soon to be LBP and Fat Princess. I wish XBL would step it up.

Pixeljunk Monsters is unique? Tower defense games have been done to death.

My problem with PSN games is that so many don't have demos, so I haven't played them. I also like the great board games on XBLA (Catan, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Lost Cities (card game))

I think the presentation is what sets it apart.

I enjoy PSN games more so and feel they are usually of higher quality over XBL games. They are more unique in general it seems as well.

My biggest gripe though about PSN is that not every game has a demo. That is something they need to take care of. But I do love on they have sales quite often on their games for a weekend or whatever.

I like the games on both but I have looked forward to a few PSN games. Only game I've been looking forward too on XBL is Castle Crashers, but it has been so damn long since they were first showing it off and such a lot of my enthusiasm has disappeared even though it is coming out in a few weeks now.

I tried the Braid demo and it is a step in the right direction instead of rehashes

I just finished playing the demo for Braid, defiantly a step in the right direction. I'll be buying it sometime soon.

cool.

i own more xbla games than psn games, so i can't say that i agree. but i'm not saying i disagree, they are both good for what they are. i'm not big on the whole remake thing in general.

oh and btw, that LBP game is not a PSN game, it's a full $60 retail game.

oh and that game Braid on XBLA SSSSUUUUUUXXXXX!!!! it looks like it was someone's homework project in school.

Kind of hard to count Rez when I've owned it for the PS2 for a few years already. Same reason can't count Warhawk, they are retail games never made to be downloadable only.

As a PS3/360 owner, I don't know.. Most of the PSN games don't have demos and I am too cheap to buy them sight unseen.

I think there are some very unique PSN games, but there are so many more XBL games that you think PSN games are more innovative when they really aren't there are just less of them and so they seem better. XBL has more and just as many unique titles.

The only reason I would want a PS3 at this point is because of their more original downloadable games compared to xbla. The ps3 stuff seems way better.

Rez HD is on PSN ? It's an XBL game right ? XBL also has Castle Crashers and Geometry Wars, seems to me that XBL has the better content.

XBL has a lot of quality games. Just as many, if not more, than PSN. The problem is that a lot of crap games got dumped on XBL (see Double D Dodgeball, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Yaris, Screwjumper, etc) and half-assed retro games (Frogger I & II, Missle Command, Tron) that which dilutes the XBL brand and gives the impression that XBL games are crappy overall. This, of course, ignores fantastic games like Braid, Geometry Wars 1 & 2, Rez HD, Ikaruga, Puzzle Quest, Bomberman Live, Pac-Man Championship Edition, N+, Super Puzzle Street Fighter and more.

Rez, Ikagura, Bomberman, and Pac Man are old. Castle Crashers isn't out yet, so I can't comment on that. Geometry Wars is on a multitude of other platforms, and so is N+ and Puzzle Quest.

None of the games, IMO, even compare to Everyday Shooter, Pixeljunk Monsters, Pixeljunk Eden, or Super Stardust.

I have to try Braid though. It sounds great.

Pac-Man Championship Edition is not old. It's a new version of Pac-Man and very addictive. I bought it for my wife's XBL account and it is extremely fun. Same with Bomberman. New version of a game.

If by multitude of platforms, you mean the PC, ok, yeah, whatever. We're talking Console Gaming here though.

Using your logic, Pixeljunk Monsters and Pixeljunk Eden shouldn't count because they are a different version of an older game that is on a multitude of platforms. Same with Super Stardust - new version of an older game.

Damn, Super Stardust HD looks intense. Let me see if there's a demo for it.

Yes, I know Pac-Man championship is a new XBL game. The point is, they barely changed the gameplay from the original Pac-Man. Infact, they got rid of my favorite part of old Pac-Man games: multiplayer.

The same thing for Bomberman Live. The game did nothing that special when compared to Super Bomberman or Saturn Bomberman, which had internet play and allowed up to ten players.

This is totally different from Pixeljunk Monsters. PJM has a unique concept and art style, not to mention that it isn't a sequel or remake of anything. Just because it is a tower defense title doesn't mean it's a different version of an older game  That is like saying all FPSs or RTSs are simply new versions of old games, which is completely false. Games that share genre and games of the same series reiterated are completely different.

As far as Pixeljunk Eden, have you even played the game? I have never seen a game like it, so I don't know where you get off calling it a newer version of an older game.

Next, you try to call Super Stardust HD a clone of it's predecessors, when it's obviously not. The gameplay of the series has evolved completely, with Super Stardust HD being entirely different than the games before it, unlike the new Pac-Man and Bomberman.

So no, those three aren't reiterations of old games in any way. And no, they aren't on a multitude of platforms.

Speaking of games that are on a multitude of platforms....

Geometry wars in not only on the 360, but also on the original Xbox as well as the Nintendo DS and Wii.

N+ is also coming out for DS and PSP.

AND both of these games are on the PC. Oh wait, there is no such thing as a PC in these parts

And to take the cake, Puzzle Quest is available on the DS, PSP, Wii, PC, PS2, PS3, and mobile phones.

:D

EDIT: Forgot to mention Rez HD. The developer even stated that it was "100% of the same game", or something to that effect.
