Ha... this cartoon captures the moment perfectly.... obama giving away things as gifts that were paid for by the American taxpayer. And in this case giving away something to Mitt in hopes of getting a few ideas on how to fix the economy.... golden stuff here.

That is golden stuff, nearly as golden as the tablets his religion is founded upon. *cough bullshit cough*
Anyone who thinks this guy has any idea how to fix this economy is a lunatic.

You're surprised that a wealthy demographic (IT professionals) leans right?
You're surprised that a wealthy demographic (IT professionals) leans right?
Actually, IT professionals tend to be highly educated and the educated tend to lean much more to the left*. This board happens to have some of the loudest and most close-minded individuals be those that lean to the right. There are definitely crazies on both sides, but there are far more on this board that are righties.
* Because of women's and minority studies, schools of education, anthropology, psychology, sociology, philosophy and journalism, telephone sterilizers, and of course, liberal arts. The less useful one's major to society, the farther one must proceed down its educational path to make a good living, and the less incentive to stop going to school and get a job, and the more likely one is to demand the government shift reality to provide more wealth than would the free market.

It really is perfect. Obama giving a taxpayer provided gift to a rich guy.
Yup.

So ironic coming from the person who lives in a cartoon world.
I've visited thousands of fictional worlds in my time, unlike conservatards who could do no better than get themselves completely stuck in this one:
...and this guy's:
But the output sure is hilarious!
I agree those are just as bad as your infatuation with little cartoon ponies or other anime characters.
What I find amusing is that even people who know jack shit about anything continue to post in P&N and probably think they are smart.
The taxpayer does not pay for food for the President. Obama has to pay for it. In fact the President has to pay for things like his own toothpaste and dry cleaning.
You have been completely and utterly pwned. Perhaps you should just shut up about things you know nothing about? Like our government.
Are you sure obama pays for all of his food? So when obama hosts people , like say an ambassador from Germany, or perhaps a business leader, you think obama pays for the meal? That perhaps that money doesn't come from the yearly white house budget?
I don;t think his $400,000 salary could handle all of that. Perhaps the food obama pays for (including toothpaste and dry cleaning) is for family meals.
You should not be so quick to tell other people to shut up.... you might actually learn something about how the world works.
In her new book "The Obamas," New York Times Washington correspondent Jodi Kantor goes behind the scenes in the White House to report on what lifes like in the most famous house in America. Kantor has been following President Obama and First Lady Michelle since 2007, when they made the leap from being an exceptional young family from Chicago to occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Most of us probably think the Obamas live a lavish life on the taxpayers dime, but, according to Kantor, finances are tight in the White House. While rent is free, just about nothing else is. The president and first lady pay for their food, parties, vacations, butlers, housekeepers, ushers and at Ritz Carleton prices. If they want to bring someone on Air Force One who isnt in the official traveling delegation, they have to reimburse the American people the equivalent of first-class airfare for the flight.
People say that theres kind of a ritual with every new president and first lady. They get to the White House, they move in, they start to live there. A month or so in, they get their first bill, and there is a moment of shock, says Kantor. Being wealthy gives a first family a real advantage and -- while the Obamas are rich Americans by just about any measure -- they dont have the kind of personal wealth that can move the needle in the White House. It makes you wonder: can we ever have a truly middle-class president?
