The best art is almost always on the cutting edge of mainstream acceptability. Saaaay, who was the crazy Picasso guy anyway?

Good art is meant to provoke and challenge the unexamined assumptions and complacency of the viewer.

One of the hallmarks of both Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia was their over-the-top institutional hatred for modern art. Both regimes pushed schmaltzy, traditionalist, bourgeouise/heroic worker, sentimental crap as art, hence the artistic legacy of both regimes is some of the most derivative, mediocre, worthless and forgettable art and architecture ever produced.

If you believe in freedom of expression then you believe in this artist's right to display his work.

Yup, logic fail. Killers gotta kill, eh?

he may be referring to kings who go around invading other countries and getting a whole lot of their own people wounded/killed

Depicting all great world leaders and kings kingdoms as "killers" with one stroke of brush is stupidity, and shows ones narrow mindedness. All of a sudden a whole generation of ppl got educated and fed liberal values does not mean that we have evolved and gotten more intelligent.

Why don't presidents fight the wars?
Why do we always send the poor?

Why doesn't the architect and chief engineer climb on top of the building that attach the freakin beam themselves?

*Edit*
I guess I am seriously Trolling here... I will stop.

his reasoning behind the exhibition is that "Because they kill so many other people, it would be a favour to kill them, understand? Why don't people in power and in the elite die?"

All the Jihadist would trip over each others to get copies which bring to mind a question, where is the picture of the artist shooting Mohamed?

Should Obama hang a picture of Amadinejab getting shot and vice versa.

It's just disgusting.

What would happen if someone in the U.S depicts himself killing the current President of the U.S?

just because nobody understands you - it doesn't make you an artist.

From the article:

Other world leaders depicted in the violent series include the former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, the former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Why not?

Perknose > you in this thread.

you really shouldn't mix art with politics, as you seem to understand nothing of the former. same goes for science and politics.

As an artist myself I thought it was good. A little too much negative space and some of the images didn't flow right, but good nonetheless.

Hmm.. No Obama.. No Clinton.. Interesting... No Castro, Chavez, Kim Jung Il? Hmm.. Political agenda? Oh, but he did get the Pope, the Queen, Bush, and Ariel Sharon! Woot! He got the Superfecta! Vatican, United States, Britain, and Israel! Gee.. why would that be?

No Muhamed? No suicide bomber holding a Quran? No Bin Ladin? No King of Saudi Arabia? Cutting edge? Blah.. This guy is about as predictable and cutting edge as the Wesboro Baptist Church at a soldier funeral.

On on positive note, he did somehow sneak Ahmadinejad in there. Woah! That's a real statement there!

Nothing to see here but typical Hate America/Britain/Catholics/Israel first crowd stuff.

I actually like the idea of this art. its over the top but thought provoking in its concept, eliminating a few bad people that would otherwise ruin millions of less fortunate lives?

Of course not. I'm attaching no negative connotation to the term "killer" - you are, apparently. One who is responsible for the death of another is a killer.

Almost sounds like you justified Bush going into Iraq and a ton of other U.S. actions.
