artifacts?

ok, i hear about artifacts and it seems that they come from overstressing your vid-card or a bad vid-card from what i've read.

what exactly do they look like?

jus looks like corruption......ie missing colours, specs of black of wierd colours round the screen randomly, missing textures, jus stuff u wouldnt normally expect, i remember one guy had brown bars coming across the screen in UT2004!

i had massive artifacts in mid town madness...the sky kept changing colour randomly and very fast it was totally spazzing out with phsycadellic colours!!! was drivers tho so its not always over stressing the card...

Ever played on an overheating nintendo when your game starts to get jarbled? Well it kinda looks like that, except not usually to that extreme.

I've experienced, missing flickering textures. A big black polygon appear on the screen. Sometimes, it might look safe too, but there might be flickering pixels. Those are hard to find. In fact, I had to lower my overclock from 370 - 360, just to get rid of them.
