Just got this card from newegg and I'm geting artifacts everywhere. Stock speeds 350/1000. I tried underclocking it to 300/900 and still got them. Should I just RMA this thing or should I give it a couple days?

helps if i give some system specs. athlon xp2800, asus a7n8x-x, 1gb ram, antec 550 watt PSU. deleted all my old video drivers before installing the new card. old card was a radeon 9700pro.

i have the latest video drivers and chipset drivers.

tried rolling back video drivers and still the same shat.

I would RMA it, although when you call don't mention that it has been underclocked, because to them it's often just the same as being overclocked. By the way, what brand is it?

brand is in the title of the thread ;)

leadtek

i tried playing alien vs predator 2. it was artifacting like crazy at the title screen and in game. after 5 seconds of playing, the game froze.

i just did a test with some program "DX9 Real-Time High-Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting" to monitor the temps. the program would go for about a second, then the whole machine would freeze for 2-3 seconds, then unfreeze for a second, then freeze for 2-3 again. the fan on the card is spinning, i can feel air being sucked up, but it's just barely spinning. my radeon9700 was louder than this thing.

thats abnoraml. definetly rma it, i have the same card and not a single artifact at default bfg "overclocked" settings (370/1000). myabe a defective card (but try swapping your old card back in and seeing for artifacts, or try the leadtek in another computer before rma)

the machine worked fine with my radeon in there. that card is a bulletproof. i got that radeon9700pro when they first launched and it's still runnin strong. already got an RMA number for the card. have to wait until tuesday, since i left the box and what not at work. gives me time to throw it in another machine and test it anyway.

very interesting. it seems my brand new antec 550watt PSU was the culpret. i put my 500watt raidmax back in, and it's working great. even got it OC'd quite nicely. last thing i expected it to be. glad i tried it before sending it back.
