Hello all.

First off let me list my system specs:
Athlon 64 3500+ socket 939 newcastle
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
2x512MB corsair XMS DDR400
250GB Samsung HDD
Leadtek Geforce 6600gt
NEC 3520a dvd-rw
Aspire 550watt PSU
Tsunami Dreamer case

Problem: I recently reformatted my computer because I got indefinite BSODs after moving my comp to college (don't know why). After the reformat, everything seemed to work fine, actually games ran smoother than before. Now, all of a sudden after 3 weeks of working fine my computer froze in the Bet on Soldier demo. I got a blue screen when I restarted, did last known good configuration in dos and all seemed fine. I went to play battlefield and right when I load the game I get insane artifacts then the game crashes to the desktop. Tried winamp visualizations full screen and got artifacts. When I get back to the desktop the artifacts are still there, but if I move windows around it kind of wipes them away. I checked the gpu temp and its around 58C (there's no AC at college) and cpu temp is about 38C.

I tried changing my nvidia drivers to the beta 78.82 I think and nothing changed. I've never gotten artifacts when not overclocking (I never overclocked this machine or video card) so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've been using this rig for about 8 months without many problems at all.

Here is a picture of the desktop with the artifacts.

Please help me if you have a solution or anything that might help. Thanks.

I swapped the video card out for a 6800gt and everything works fine. I think I'm gonna RMA the 6600gt because that has to be the source of the problem.
