Artie quit the Stern show today

He got into an argument with Teddy his assistant. Howard pulled Teddy into the studio. Artie accused Teddy of stealing his money and it just went downhill from there.

Artie went to try and beat the crap out of Teddy. The crew stopped him. Artie said he would have killed him if he could have gotten to him. Howard said it was not acceptable to try and physically assault someone and it just couldn't be allowed. Artie said he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again. Artie gave his resignation and Howard accepted it. Artie left.
 
i heard the results of this today. i turned it on right after artie walked out.

apparently he is scheduled to go to amsterdam next week too

the show was totally shooken up

I haven't listened to the whole show yet, but it sounds like Artie's assistant has been stealing money from him so he went off on him in the studio and it got physical. He quit the show because he was pissed that Howard brought it up in the studio. I think he felt like howard was trying to make a bit out of it and when it got serious Howard blamed Artie for getting out of hand.
 
Man and i was listening this morning going to work and they were talking bout what Artie would do if Stern didnt renew his contract in a few years but that was around 7am. I didnt bother to listen to the rest of the show this morning.
 
Thanks for the info. Interesting... my hunch is that eventually Artie will be back. Could be a while but I would not be surprised if he returns within 2 weeks of new shows.

I remember the AJ Benza fiasco when he slapped John. Assuming Artie didn't actually get the opp to strike Teddy... I imagine he still has a window to come back. Dude is beyond help tho imo, and eventually will be dead from drugs, suicide or heart disease at an early age.

I do hope they bring in a guy like Greg Fitzsimmons tho... dude is hilarious.

Dammit if this was one of my telecommuting days I would have heard it! Must find replay after work...

7 guys had to hold Artie back. I think Artie just lost it today and he's shown this tendancy in the past but never to this level. He was livid, like a caged animal...he just snapped.

I don't think he'll be back.
 
Artie is still alive?

He doubled his body weight and was heavy into coke a few years back.
I just figured he would die by now.
 
I love the show and Artie - this is a real shame. He is totally out of control - I have to believe he is back on drugs and he's definitely lost his ability to keep himself in check. I hate to say it, but if he goes to Amsterdam I fear he'll die there.
