What's that theorem that posits that stupid people are much likelier to think that they are smart, compared to people who are actually smart?

"Oh those scientists are nothing but a cabal of Illuminati, they'll say anything to get grant money."

THIS is truth.

I know more than a few grant writers, for a couple of different fields. They will absolutely tailor their applications to whomever they think the audience is, and whatever they want to hear.

If you think that the science community is a bunch of altruistic martyrs who only publish things that are based on concrete facts, you are much more of an idiot than the people that your are criticizing.

You didn't read my post, so I'm going to ignore this. I know you didn't because if you did read it you would understand that I didn't actually say the thing that you're suggesting I did. Take another go and then come back.

Edit: Here's a free hint. The article that you linked is attempting to represent the views of an actual scientific study. My comments are about the actual scientific study and how the article that you linked represents it.

Okay, you just said I had a credibility score of zero. Okay...

I'm an idiot for not believing in the farce that global warming should have caused highways to be under water by now? Did you not read anything I posted? Fucking idiot!

The narrative of "global warming" is perpetuated by people who want control. Case in point, carbon credits. WTF is that crap!

At this point the consensus is so strong that climate change is occurring that the burden of proof belongs to those that deny it.

willful ignorance 101

I feel sorry for stupid people who are duped. I fell less sorry for those that just choose to be ignorant because real facts dont fit into their beliefs.

to decide to listen to small minority of the scientific community because it fits into your belief system is being duped. I pull my information from multiple sources not just the ones I agree with.

Science isnt convinient in the sense that that the data we have on MMGW doesnt fit neatly in to a simple flow chart you can understand. Some points are in flux as the data and the quality of the data changes but the basic underlying facts are that Humans have an impact on their environment.

To say otherwise is ignorant of the facts. Period. You can dance around some minor points and around implementing a solution but the basic science that the climate has changed isnt under debate by real scientists not sponsered by the heritage foundation.

Every forum I have been on there are people that believe in "global warming" and not believe. Like I said "global warming" is NOT set in stone. It has a lot of speculation surrounding it coupled with some idiots namely Al Gore who are trying to sell it.

"Climate change/global warming" is just a statistic based on BS math and models. They made predictions that by now the arctic would have melted and we be under water. Has it happened? In fact there is more ice in the arctic then there ever was!

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/10/...climate-change-prediction-by-dr-james-hansen/

I don't believe in global warming. I believe in the observations that show it's occurring. I trust the scientific method and that method shows that the climate is changing faster than at any other time we've been able to discern. That it's being caused mostly by our changes to the environment. I know that the peer reviewed theory we have to today is the best explanation for what's occuring. I know that theory will be more accurate in the future as more observations are made.

So feel free to put your belief in some blog, I'll leave mine in the scientific method, peer reviewed research, and reputable agencies like NASA and NOAA.

Dunning-Krueger.

There was another study that showed highly educated partisans are better able to filter out facts that don't fit their ideology than less educated people.

So even education may not help in some cases. :\

We should have a sticky thread that lists all the AT members that are climate change deniers. I think in about 500 years, people will want to know who the idiots were that took science and turned it into politics, preventing solutions to what have great potential to be catastrophic problems and thus endangering humanity. It's the least we can do.

Also I want to know whose opinions I can ignore.

Do you know how much Co2 was produced by all the geological activity in prehistoric times? Did the polar ice caps melt as a consequence? "humans" don't have a mouse fart chance of doing damage to the planet. The earth has been spewing Co2 into the atmosphere for years!
