well both mandarin and cantonese sounds like death.

but whatever. they can call it the "new uber 1337 ultra effective cooling tube stuff!!!!!!!!11111" if they want to

come to think of it that might be a better name...

Hotter yet, it is 5.99 on their website with free shipping!!!

I beleive it is made in the United States, the HQ is in California. I think they were just referring to the fact that the product itself is very popular in Japan. Got some coming from BestByte, I put in the order late Monday night after I found out AS5 was released, saw the $5.99 shipped price and had to get it. Got a shipping notice Tuesday morning that it was shipped, Texas to California. Have ordered from BestByte once before a couple months ago based on price alone (very hard to beat as well as the shipping costs) and everything came fine although if you read all of the comments at ResellerRatings for that company there are a fair amount of orders where people received the wrong items.

I should probably order some, my AS3 is at least 50% gone. I noted:

Due to the unique shape and sizes of the particles in Arctic Silver 5's conductive matrix, it will take a up to 200 hours to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity. (This period will be longer in a system without a fan on the heatsink or with a low speed fan on the heatsink.) The CPU's temperature will drop as much as 2C to 5C over this "break-in" period.

Still, I wonder how much more efficient it is over AS3. Gonna be hard to test if it takes 8.333 days of 24h computing to get the best results! I suppose it's probably as good as AS3 so for the price (about the same) it's likely worth it.

Basically you wouldn't really want to be buying a Pentium 13, so since they have a big market in japan they decided to just make it Arctic Silver 5...like Pentium 14!

And no, I can't really think of a product that really had 13 iterations named numerically like that.

I'm still stuck on Artic Silver II I think...I have two tubes of Artic Silver II and the epoxy which I never even opened...the two tubes have both been used but only like 2-3 times each...I only bought the 2nd tube cuz I forgot my artic silver at home when I moved to college and the cost to mail it up via priority mail made it pretty silly to do it, so I just ordered it from SVC...I think they used first class mail so in retrospect I should have thought of that. Oh well.

If anybody needs any Artic Silver II on the cheap... =P

The epoxy I bought as part of some half assed plan to glue these little ramsinks to my video card...but I ended up testing the card with the heatsinks on using double sided heat transference tape and it did pretty much jack sh*t, and the card couldn't even run at the originally spec'd speed anyway without cooling...so...basically I had no use for the epoxy. Oh well...and now I own a laptop.

One day I will return to the world of overclockage with a vengeance! Prometeia and all =P

Still using ASII also.

Great results on my 1700XP+ at 2.1G. 98f all day long except long gaming sessions go to 102f.
