I dont know if staples will take this into account but nexthardwareshop has shipping which was 14.16.. maybe they'll just charge a flat shipping fee of $9

FYI...I tried this online and my PM to Nexthardware.com got shot down b/c they wanted to add in $54.00 for next day shipping and the Googlegear PM got shot down b/c they said, with their rebate, the price was the same. I am going to try to strong-arm them B&M.

I wouldn't go to any great lengths to get this drive - I got one at the last similar opportunity and its performance was very disappointing. You're better off watching for a deal on one of the rebadged Lite-ons.

I agree, this drive sucks. I bought 2 and one will not work at all. The other chokes on recordables.

The I/O Magic at the other stores is more than likely a liteon 163, a very good drive.

Finally got in on this deal after 2 failed phone order attempts. Had to go B&M. PM'ed to Nexthardware ($22), only gave me 100% PM, tho. No questions asked whatsoever . I bought 2 drives and used a $10 off $40 coupon that I got for being a loyal Business Rewards customer, lol.

Wow? I had one of these drives.. worked great for me.. i just got a FAR liteon at OM on Blackfriday so i replaced it just for the liteon name. Nothing was wrong with my artec.

My roomate still has his artec... he uses all kinds of cheap recordables and never has had a complaint.. I have another friend using an ARtec too.. works great for him. (we got on the deal all at the same time.

If you can get this drive FAR this is well worth it guys..

From now on, Staples Deals should always include the competior's nextday shipping. Or else, its very misleading and very YMMV. All staples PM deals are.

This is only SLIGHTLY YMMV but I this is my second time getting this PM (i got this drive the last time they had this deal too).. all the staples in Atlanta that I have been to are reluctant to PM but I always get it after insisting. I even got my friends on this deal. I have NEVER had them tack on the next day shipping charge b/c they always do a flat rate of 9 bucks or so. You can print out their PM policy that says they are supposed to charge $5 for it.. I was going to that but I was getting a bunch of other deals at the time. so i didnt insist on it.. plus i had $10 in business reward checks

Dont give up jodhas just show them the policy.. and if that fails try a different staples or come back when a diff manager is on duty

OK, Worked for me at the B&M. I printed out a copy of the 110% PM policy and brought it with me.. As soon as I showed them the page from nexthardwareshop.com they said "We don't PM online stores". So out came the PM policy and I pointed to the word "Anywhere".. I figured at that point they would try to factor in the rebate or shipping.. He didn't... They charged me $17.00 for the DVD Drive..

I did this Just after I convinced them to credit $50 back to my card on the Compaq 6000z Deal since I got it last week with the $150 off and not the $200...

I think I better stay away from that store for a while...
