I'm going to be purchasing a print (possibly online) and I've got a question. What's the difference between a print that's signed and numbered vs. an artist proof that's signed and numbered. Both are the same price but the signed and numbered print has 10x as many editions. What should I buy?

I believe the proof is the original "print" that all other prints are made of. I.E. there are 10 proofs the the original piece. There are then 99 prints made of each proof. I don't know why they are the same price, typically a print is cheaper.
