Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, I can't make up my mind on which vehicle to get.

Dari

Lifer
Mitsubishi Endeavor

Volvo S60R

Infiniti FX35

I live in NYC. A car is not a necessity, but I'd like to have it just in case. It's not something I'd drive often. I like SUVs, but their popularity has taken away their uniqueness

I don't know which one to get. I'm no car guru so I can't make up my damn mind. The endeavor is nice and spacious, but it's not a luxury car. The S60R, is luxurious but its space is limited. The FX35 has a combination of both but it's grill is butt ugly.

The other obvious choices are out of the running because I see too many of them on the road already. If anything, I want something that only a few people have.

My budget is $44,000 before taxes and after the options.

The BMW 5-Series (525i and 530i) are nice, but, as I mentioned before, I see too many of them on the road already. Besides, even though everyone likes to compare it to the BMW 3-series, the s60r has almost as much interior space as the 525i and 530i. and it's faster and has more horses. Perhaps the new designs will bring back their uniqueness?

Anyone here has any opinion on this matter or would you suggest any other cars (to confuse me further)? Would anyone not recommend anyone of these cars?

Sorry cant help ya with that

pretty much. but it has to be a reliable one. truth be told, cars are no different than clothes these days. they are more than a utility. they're also a statement. But I'm not trying to be high class or anything. I just want to be different. But not too different.

The fx35 is a cool car. Its got the 350z v6 i beleive. The volvo has a supercharged flat 5 that pushes like 300hp. Both cars are nice for what they are. The fx35 happens to be my favorite suv at the moment. I would touch the flat 5 of the s60r with a 10ft pole.

Depends which circle of people you trying to appeal to. In NYC where i am, bimmers are everywhere. On one hand they are a status symbols to the lower class....but they also happen to be better cars than their competitors.

Given the decision and wording, i'm assuming that you want to be seen as succesful and upwardly mobile, but its not gonna work....because you are shopping for a car like a lower class individual.

I suggest buying a bmw, for example. And modify it... dinan, hartge, ac schnitzer, etc. This has been the trend here in the city...discrete luxury.

And ditch the volvo idea, its a crappy car for city traffic and despite the powerful motor, you have the status of an old fart.

Please god don't get an SUV. We want to drop our dependency on foreign oil, but we keep insisting on driving penis replacements.

You live in an area where BICYCLES are the most efficient method of travel.

that's the thing. I'm not trying to appeal to anyone. And I don't EVER plan on modifying the car once I get it. I'm not into cars like that. The BMW is nice, but I would get it if there weren't so many of them in the city. The Volvo is nice cause its not as popular as the bmw, but just as reliable (from what I've heard).

Would you recommend anything other than the BMW?

p.s. I would seriously consider the new 5-series.

Most of those cars come modified by the dealer. Its not really aftermarket....like the ricer stuff.

Differentiate with color, with style. Not necessarily with the model of the car.

Jaguar x-type, cadillac cts, infinity m45. Not exactly bmws, but very nice cars all around. Or you could get a generic audi jellybean in a bright color.

I want the car with options up to $44,000. And my color would be conservative: brushed silver (check out the one from volvo) or metallic black.
