Arrrrrrggggghhhh!

I am soooo mad:|

I ordered a Rio 500 from MassMerchandise.com like 2 weeks ago; it just came today and I was very very happy because it came before my Thanksgiving break and I wanted it so that I could listen to something on the long car trip me & my family are taking. But guess what happened? The damn Rio 500 I got is a broken one!!! I called up Diamond and yelled at them and they said, "Oh yea, some are like that," and are sending me a new one. I'm so pissed off. This is crap. Why can't a company ever satisfy every customer? Or at least just me!

😛

<< I called up Diamond and yelled at them >>

did you have them shaking in their boots?

Josh, stuff happens and not every company can deliver 100% of the time. Did you ever think if you'd been nice to them, and explained your situation, you could sweet talk them into overnighting you a new one?

first of all you should not have yelled. That will get you no where with a customer service agent. If you want results do the following.

1) get the customer service agents name and use it.

2) explain the situation

3) mention that you have some sort of deadline

4) ask if it would be possible to expidite

5) ask them for there managers name so that you can send a letter saying how great they were.

This may sound stupid but it works. It is only 2:00 on the west coast so if you call back you may get them to send it to you overnight. If you make them feel sorry for you they will always pick up the tab for it.

Edit: using there name is very important. It will scare the hell out of them every time you use it.

Actually, I didn't yell. I just wanted to make the story sound cooler; like Vipers' stories 😛

The guy was very nice and so was I, he said he'll ship one out as soon as "Product support" get's the e-mail. So hopefully I'll have one in a week or two.

Has this problem w/ the RIO happened to anyone else?

you know Josh, as the famous saying goes:

When life gives you lemons, tackle life to the ground and squeeze the lemons back in life's eyes.

I've got a Rio500. Used it for about 3 weeks. it's somewhere in my car now, unused.

As nice as 64mb sounds, it AIN'T enough! At about 5mb per song, that's only 13 songs at most. Constantly loading/unloading song variations get's old QUICK. Not to mention how quickly that thing DEVOURS batteries.

Maybe with the memory prices dropping again some nice new cheap technology will be coming out soon, them hard drive based MP3 players are too damned much money right now.

I hope you have better use of yours than I did mine.

Namuna:
I had a Yepp 64mb and I was able to get 21 songs on there. You just need to download a slower kb rate. Most of the songs on my Yepp were about 96kb/sec. There is no MAJOR loss of quality; everything sounds just fine to me!

Sounds like its time to buy one from CompUSA, and return the bad one.... Diamond will get it back eventually... But you'll have one for the road tommorrow...

HEY I WORKED AT COMPUSA, josh go do it, they deserve it and wont really give a rats arse, and if you wait yuo'll get a second for free, i think, and why not just rig a [eu[uihuhuher oh brain fart, happens after you work at compusa.

<< I called up Diamond and yelled at them >>

So they are like - "Oooh, here is a kid that sounds like a girl that plays with pokemon telling us how to do OUR jobs! Aaahaha, Eddie, get a load of this, line 4..."

yeah you go sephiroth heh, but really, josh, though when ya go to comp usa, have your 6'4" buddy there to back you up, those nerds at compusa intimidate real well, also dont go , then come back a second later, give em about 45 minutes, and also make sure you rip out the new one while leaving the store mumbling about how cool it'll be, so they think you really checked it out

<< those nerds at compusa >>

Hey, they dont deserve to be called nerds...they were saying how the P4 kicks soooo much ass the other day... 😛

I'd rather not commit fraud 🙂 And I'm leaving in about 20 minutes, so either way Im screwed. I guess I'll just have to wait. ::sigh::

Sephiroth:
Having a bad day? Or just cracking on me? 😉

Uh...what are you trying to say...?lol. I know the P4 bites. The workers at CompUSA think that it kicks ass.

It's part of life. If you would have been thinking ahead of time you woulda bought it earlier so if there was any problems you could get them fixed and still have it before you Thanksgiving Trip.
