I had a chance at a mild deal on an XBOX 360 ...

I've played xbox 360 / PS3 over the years but just hated the controls for pretty much everything except Soul Caliber. Both the latest xbox crab and ps spider controllers still do nothing for me...

I guess I have to accept that I will forever be a WASD Bitch.

Keyboard and mouse on the 360 and PS3; check out the XIM360.

I used one for a couple years until I gave up on consoles and went back to pc gaming this past summer. It is, hands down, the BEST adapter available.

I started with an XIM and moved up to a XIM360. I haven't been on the XIM site for a few months now, but last time I was there was a new model being tested and was suppose to release soon. Get in to the forums. It's quite active. There's also plenty of vids on YouTube.

OP, I dont know what the hell the big deal is.

Why dont you just get BOTH a good gaming PC and a console? And dont you dare tell me it's too

expensive for you. A powerful gaming PC can be easily built in the $700 price range and a

console will run you another $200 or so + whatever you are going to spend on games.

This may seem like a lot but it really isnt. I built my PC 2 years ago, and it's still going

strong. I may not have all the latest bleeding edge hardware, but I easily run any modern game

out there. As for consoles, I only buy the best quality games, and I only buy them a year after

release. This way I get em cheap.

I used to be a PC only gamer and has a vendetta against consoles, but then I gave up all that

siliness and realized that there is no reason to let pride get in the way of fun.

PS: Why the hell are you using macs and tablets? I hate Macintosh computers and anyone who uses

a mac is gay. ; )

PS # 2: But if you need to study, why the hell are you even considering gaming? If you want to

succeed in school you shouldnt have any games in your house. I know because I am not doing

well in school.

I pretty much came to the same conclusion. Most of my friends have xbox's so with both*

I get the eye candy I was looking for on the pc and get to frag their asses on the xbox. I

basically paid a total of about $210 for the following so it was a no brainer:

xbox 4gb
1 year xboxlive
hdmi cable
mass effect 2
bioshock 2
battlefield 2: bad company 2
spinter cell: conviction

*While I am not sure if I will wait out the whole ushering in of the ati 6000 series, I will

definitely get a pc soon

-------------

I actually got the xbox with the games in the mail yesterday and had a chance to fire it up

today. I took me forever to get used to the controller with a few frustrating moments in BF2:BC2. Once I got the hang of it it picked up nicely and was pretty fun. I still can't aim for **** without the scope's autoaim though :p. I got used to ME2 pretty quickly.

Overall the FPS experience on the console pales in comparison to playing them on the PC but a

more 3rd person game like ME2 worked out well. It seems like Just Cause 2 might work out well

too.

I have to say that I really liked the whole xbox live thing. Being able to watch netflix in

extra-high resolution was fantastic. The ESPN app was also great with pretty much flawless

execution on my EPL game. While I can definitely duplicate this on a pc, it was very convenient

and very well put together.

So now to spec out the PC :D (already in prorgress :D)

P.S Earlier in this thread someone had asked me what my question was.
A: I have no idea what my question was. I hadn't gamed in ages and wanted feedback on my

frustration.

There are a few xbox exclusives I'd like to play that make me consider getting a console from time to time, buy I truly suck with analog controls for first/third person games and I'd ultimately just not play them for that reason.

I ended up getting the following:

antec 300
ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO
XFX 6870 1GB
OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ700MXSP 700W PSU
AMD Athlon II X4 640
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB

Total Cost was: ~$700 with shipping

It's no 440BX chipset system (ASUS P2B-F for life! :D) but hopefully it'll do.

Dude seriously it`s not that hard. I always laugh at people that say it`s impossible to play with a controller. It takes under an hour to get proficient with it. Console`s use assist so it makes it easier. I even own a 360 controller for my PC as there`s just some games that are played better with a controller. Sure if the game is available on PC I`d pick it up over a console any day but console exclusive fps`s are easy to play. It`s not that hard. You didn't magically know how to use kb/m either. You had to learn to use that as well. If you consider yourself a gamer, you're doing a disservice to yourself by limiting yourself only to PC games.

Considering 50%+ of AAA titles never make it to the PC these days, it's time to stop shunning consoles completely. Missing out on Infamous, Uncharted 2, Red Dead Redemption, and a load of other games because of some overinflated sense of loyalty for PC gaming is just kind of sad.

This is why I have a ps3, for there exclusives as wells sports games (NHL 11 and the show MLB)
