UPDATE: I just called my wife to ask what the police said. She didn't CALL the police!!! Plus, it turns out that they tried to steal my stereo, but just broke the front off instead, and took my speakers and CDs and such. :| Now I'm totally screwed with that car. I can't afford to replace everything! Arrggghhh!!!!!

I just got a call from my wife. Last night someone smashed the window in my Volvo and stole my son's gameboy and games. :|:|:|:|

Who do people think that's ok?!?!?!

that really sucks... about 4 months ago, my car was broken into.. they stole my brand new stereo and amp/sub.... i was really pissed... the only good thing was that there was no damage to the car that showed signs of their break-in.

That's why I have a stock stereo in my car. Yeah, it's a Mach460 but it won't work in another car, plus components won't work with aftermarket components.

My stereo wasn't expensive... a $100 Pioneer. The speakers were a bit more expensive, but not much. This old car had no stereo when I bought it...

In any big city you should not leave anything in the open. Someone I know had a closed briefcase sitting in the car and the thieves smashed the window and stole the briefcase. Maybe they though there would be a million dollars in it like in the movies. Unfortunately for them it was just a bunch of boring work papers.

I agree with others, call the police. That'll be the only way you could recover the items, if they catch the thieves doing something else, somewhere else.

Let me know if you need some OEM pioneer speakers (5 1/4 right?), they're two-ways and they don't sound all that bad. Just pay the shipping. They are currently buried in storage right now though, in the very back of a 40 foot container. It'll be about a month before they emerge.
