Arrrggg to the S775 Push-Pin Mounting system!

Who invented this? I'd like to boil them in oil! IMO, the best system ever was the P4 opposing-levers, very, very easy.

agreed. it is terrible for todays larger heatsinks.

the stupid socket heatsink retention design and lack of native ide support on the new intel chipsets were two bonheaded moves in anotherwise great year for intel.

i hate the POS retention on S775.

almost impossible to get on right if the boards inside the case.


But yeah, intel definitely needs to get rid of this wacked out retention system. But thank god im on water, and blocks have its own mounts.

Honestly I don't know.

I've only used Zalman on 775. Their mounting system has always been easy and very secure regardless of the platform.

a lot does, thats why it blows even more.

Thank god im on water that uses independant mounts/springs.
