Liked the story until the ending, where it just got stupid. I hate movies that build up a rich and detailed world, then suddenly ruin it in the last 30 minutes trying to throw in a non-nonsensical twist.

Over rated film only won 1 Oscar. I enjoyed Hacksaw Ridge way more than Arrival.

Hacksaw Ridge was fucking incredible. I liked that movie a lot. Not really comparable to Arrival though IMO just because they are completely different. I enjoyed them both but if I had to pick one, Hacksaw Ridge would take the cake no questions asked.

I will compare them based on both being films and both were nominated for best picture. They are suppose to entertain and HR did it far better.
