Arrghh... IRQ's won't change!

On a Shuttle AV18E (ugh, I know), It is placing my sound card (Ensoniq PCI) and my Video card (AIW Radeon) on IRQ 11.

This is causing sound distortion when in the TV or DVD player and an outside app tries to make a sound, and hella problems with shutting down the TV app. I cannot set individual IRQ's in BIOS, and in win98SE I try to alter them in device manager and both say that the value cannot be changed.

Whas-a-dillio? Should I change the pci slot of the sound card, right now it is in PCI slot 4 and video in AGP.

i thought there was a way to manually change the irq settings in windows...but i could be wrong. anyway, you should definately try moving the sound card. when windows re-detects it in the new slot it will probably assign it a new irq

have you set PnP OS in bios to yes?
in any case, could you post your full irq list?
