hahaha they just arrested this guy who yelled at me for taking a nap at the library the other day. I was taking a 20 minute nap the other day at the library after doing some research for work. Next thing I know I hear this bang on my desk, when I woke up the old guy turn around and yelled "if you want to sleep go home". I was going to say something but I just ignored the guy because he is old. I thought he was staff. I pulled something out of my wallet and used my power(will not reveal). Today I am at the library doing same thing when two officer showed up and arrested him. Take that for messing with a powerful gifted individual.

as unbelievable as it sounds, here in the bay area quite a few public non-university libraries have rules against sleeping in the library, along with ruies against following people, staring at people, peeing on the seats, writing in the books, molesting the kids etc.... at one library i even saw employees doing exactly what that guy did to you--waking sleepers up and telling them they need to read or leave. i think its sort of ridiculous myself, who doesnt doze off in the middle of reading, but those are the rules they have to have if they want to keep homeless people from living in the stacks

Perknose said specifically that I got an infraction and ban because I didn't report the post and my not-reporting is what got me the ban. Plain and simple. Read my PMs if you don't believe me.

Additionally, 90% of the shit I've reported is clearly against the rules and NO ONE has done ANYTHING about them. I'd say that's fucking proof.

i got banned for 3 months for saying a certain cell phone was outdated and buggy. then i got banned for 2 weeks for telling people not to shop at a certain store. the first amendment has gone out the window here, which is probably why there are a lot fewer posts these days

The First Amendment does not apply to this privately owned forum, but the "no moderator call outs" clause does.

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution does not guarantee free speech on a privately owned discussion board. The owners of the board and their representatives (mods) are legally allowed to censor or outright ban anyone they feel like banning for saying anything they don't like. If you want freedom of speech you need to start your own discussion board where you can control the content.

People cite the damn First Amendment way too much, thinking it gives them the right to demand their verbal diarrhea be published by others.
