I wonder if anyone has ever done studies of the sex lives of people in arranged marriages versus people who married for other reasons.

yeah, it really is 50/50

Seeing how they have a less divorce rate then a normal marriage that has around a 50% rate you get better odds really.

Seeing how they have a less divorce rate then a normal marriage that has around a 50% rate you get better odds really.

How much of that lower divorce rate comes from real compatibility between the partners in the marriage, and how much comes from the social stigma of divorce within the culture that practices arranged marriages?

better than my cousin, he was told to marry a certain girl.

but then he was weird and didn't mind, and their first kid is due this month. he was happy he didn't have to go find a wife. i was like. "uuhhhh sure"

EDIT: so i'm talking to my sister, and they had the kid on saturday. thanks for letting me know!
 
Arranged marriages can be good.

The whole basis of the marriage is typically financial and starting a family, right? As long as you're wife turns out the be good, it could be great. The downside to this is that there's sometimes no passion to the marriage. No real love.

The basis on many modern western marriages is passion. A lot more sex based. More often, I think these marriages fall apart.

I think the best marriage is sort of a combination. Do it with someone you love, but have the basis of the marriage on friendship and goal of financial security and starting a family.

Besides social stigma I think it also comes from people being more accomodating
