Arrandale/Clarkdale IGP to support video transcoding

In what seems to be follow-up to cancellation of consumer Larrabee parts, Intel is focusing their efforts on IGP development. Aside from the upside of possibly better funding for drivers, acceleration of video encoding via the IGP is planned to be supported in Intel's next gen IGP platforms, Arrandale and Clarkdale.

I'm assuming they're going to support it through Win7's Media Foundation Transcode. AFAIK the quality is constant there (MS is using DirectCompute I guess?) so there shouldn't be an issue. Speed is a much bigger problem.

Does anyone know the specs of the clarkdale IGP and how it compares to the G45's X4500HD?

Is it an improvement or about the same?
Even if it's the same, that'd be a pretty good achievement imo...
