Normally not one to complain and having been more than supportive of my Commander-in-Chief and Secretary of Defense, this is absurd.

Shortly after the Chief of the Army Reserve makes an announcement that his organization is "broke" or close to it, someone comes out and asks even more of us? This is getting insane. I stand by one of my tenets, "Poor planning on your behalf does not constitute an emergency on mine." Reserve and National Guard members have made huge sacrifices in this war. Many have given up jobs, families, businesses and lives for their service and now they ask for even more? Rumsfeld needs to go. Now I read the damn article and it doesn't say this was his doing or decision, but I can't help but think he will support it.

Cheney and Bush got us into this mess and have caused irrepairable harm to Americas Stature in the world and her economic conditions...

Our Govt. has been writing way too many blank checks and now they act like soldiers are robots.
 
thise whole "we can extend you stay for as long as we deem necessary" clause is complete and utter bs. I went to and talk to the marines and air force recruiters when i was graduating highschool. Et no point in time they told me the 8 year commitment can be extended to "whenever" because they say so.

I find that very sly and unprofessional to sign up people thinking that after their 8 yers they'll be done... when you can call em in whenever
 
How dare these soldiers act as if they can terminate their service to the government. They ought to pass a new law that says that once you join the military you are in for life, and can be called up at any time at any age to go fight in foreign wars.
