Army sniper v Marine sniper

so i am talking to my friend whose uncle was a sniper and he says Army b/c they got their own school and crap. blah, blah, blah.

i'm voting marines b/c they kick arse. and the debate rages on...whose's your pick?

There was a fairly large rivalry in Vietnam regarding this IIRC. It centred around something like how Army snipers racked up a whole lot more kills than those in the Marines because they essentially shot anything on sight, while the Marines were ordered to be a bit more picky.

marines as far as i know are always pushing forward, where as the army occupies area's that have been taken over and plays defence

i could be wrong though

Um, no. A sniper who cannot hide... cannot hide from opposing snipers, and will be taken out quickly.

The inventory mgr at the car dealership where I briefly worked was a sniper in the Marines.

He was a very cheery fellow. Always had a smile on his face.

There is no real answer to this question. Both have different roles and do things differently.
