An army recruiter in Houston TX, Sgt. Thomas Kelt left this message on that young man's cell phone:

"Hey Chris, this is Sgt. Kelt with the Army man. I think we got disconnected. Okay, I know you were on your cell probably and just had a bad connection or something like that. I know you didn't hang up on me. Anyway, by federal law you got an appointment with me at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Greenspoint Mall, okay? That's the Greenspoint Mall Army Recruiting Station at 2 o'clock. You fail to appear and we'll have a warrant. Okay? So give me a call back."

I went to Greenspoint Mall when I was a kid, then it turned into a ghetto.

Kelt told him threatening to issue an arrest warrant was a "marketing technique," according to Monarch, a version of the story the Army confirmed.

Unbelievable.

Military recruiters are some of the worst people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I know, they are recruiters, they have a job to do. And I know they are getting pressure from the higher ups to increase numbers. That still doesn't make all the bullsh!t they do ok.

I'm only 21, so I remember my high school graduation pretty well, and the various groups trying to get me to join. Colleges tried pretty hard, frats tried a little harder, but the recruitment from the military was insane. I don't know what the hell they are smoking, but they really need to stop.

This is our "volunteer" army of heroes eh?

LMAO!! I have to wonder if this recruiter volunteered to go over and fight??

Maybe he considers his patriotic duty is fullfilled just by recuriting cannon fodder?

The Army could recruit at gunpoint and herd all these new "recruits" into a train car and the neocons in this forum would just love it.

While I don't want to accuse people of something they haven't done yet, there are certain right-wingers in this forum (and elsewhere) that seem to have a curious view that the ends justify the means. If we need recruits, it doesn't matter how we get them doesn't sound too strange once you've crossed over into that place where doing bad things for good reasons is ok.

Funny how none of the retards supporting the war are answering this particular little issue.

A nice "that is wrong" would suffice.
