There's your first review from a major site. Although I haven't read through the review, it's a decent score.

EDIT: The review states that character names are Salem and Rios, which is weird. In my above post, I talked about reading the preview in an EGM mag about this time last year. Turns out I was way off, since I found the mag during a...*ahem*...bathroom visit...yesterday. The magazine came out around August 2006, which means it's been a year and a half ago since I first read about it. I read through the article, and at the time it was written, their names were Tyson and Elliot. Kinda weird that they changed the names.

Did you read the article? Tyson and Elliot are their 1st names. Salem and Rios their last names. I can't remember if EA ever told us their full names in previous showings or in any other previews.

I just glanced through it, didn't read it. Check my bolded part above.

My buddy has it on pre-order, I may grab it just because he is getting it so we can play coop.

When does blockbuster typically get new release games in?

The local one from me said they don't have it in, nor do they carry it.

Thursday of that week. Though I've seen it where new games don't show up until the following Tuesday or later.

I'm pretty good at predicting IGN scores for games.

I'm going to say 8.6 for Army of Two.

I bet you're way off ;)

Man, 7.9. They had to put a PS3 editor on the review!

Mine is supposed to be on the way from Gamefly. I intend to play through on co-op once it's here.

my buddy picked it up and I played a few rounds with him.

it was kinda steep learning curve since I have only played FPS on a PC and first time on a console.

control aside, so far it was pretty fun, and the co-op element seems to force you two to play as a team.

i liked it so far, 8.5/10.

again, this is the first FPS I've ever played on a console, no Halo, no Assassin Creed, no CoD

Instead of making a new thread, I'll bump this one.

I finally got around to playing this after borrowing it from a friend... Just finished it single player a little while ago. In general I think Ao2 had some very neat ideas that just didn't play out well and just became a mediocre shooter.

- Back to Back in theory was neat, but it was scripted events that you'd just come across.
- I could never do the Coop Snipe because well, I'd never have enough ammo in my sniper rifle and the points where it happened were few and far between.
- The Aggro idea was neat as well, but never seemed to work as well as I hoped it would, except when you were in Overdrive mode.
- Hovercraft segments were just pointless, as were the tandem parachuting parts...
- ... and just when I was starting to get challenged, the game ended, and I didn't care that it ended.

The enemy AI was pretty decent. They'd advance, fall back, chuck grenades, try to flank you, take cover, blind fire... all pretty good. Graphics were sharp enough, sound effects were fine but nothing spectacular, and the dialog between the two protagonists was pretty amusing... but the heavy handed Military Privatization theme was a bit much for my tastes (at least the title itself works for a sequel, if you've finished the first game). Its possible that EA can improve upon this franchise if they feel like bothering... I dont think sales were too great.

In terms of playing coop, well... no one's playing this anymore so you better have a friend who owns it if you want to play it for what it is. It may not be bad for a rental, but this definitely isn't a purchase game except if maybe it was $10 at a store... and finally,

Ugh, thread-necroing. You should know better, Modeps. Make a new thread instead of reviving a dead one.
