Because it's true. I'm only half joking. Marines are "best" in a few key areas that you should keep in mind:

a) combat
b) overall toughness
c) sticking together/staying close-knit
d) discipline
e) doing the most with the least
f) making fun of the other services.

Every Branch Makes FUN of the OTHERS...
My dad were in the navy and he taunts the airforce and the army and as well the marines. My dad thinks that they are nearly worth less without the Navy. Well IMO one branch does depends on the others and this applies to all of the branches. So in general we all need each others. They do their jobs differently. Salute to our troops no matter what.

Yeah, that's what i posted the analogy. Because just like in high school, the honors students look at the athletes like a bunch of dumbasses, the athletes look at the ap students like a bunch of geeks, and the music people are their own isolated group but know that without them, critical school functions wouldn't work.

In terms of Navy vs Marines, it's like Music Vs Wrestling. Music people think Wrestlers are stupid and barbaric. Why throw each other around and get all sweaty and gross when you can do something more cultured and "cool". On the other hand, the wrestlers think the music people are a bunch of homos who cant fight their way out of a paperbag.

In the end, all the services contribute to the US Military and all of them are needed. They just serve different functions.

Go Navy!

Navy, in aviation. I'd love to fly off a carrier.

It would be sweet to fly F-14's or F-18's, or the new JSF's, but flying a Sea King 'copter would be pretty kickass, too.

Oh well, probably won't happen unless a new world war draws me to enlist, which is doubtful.

Sub duty, w00p. When I first got my GED several years back I was a bit lost really, and was mulling entering the Navy (who knows, I still might after college.) and they were really pushing for me to sign on for nuclear training because of my extremely high scores on the practice ASVAB at the recruiting center. Submarines were one of the main temptations.

But to be perfectly honest I wasn't ready back then. And I'm not sure if it'll still be at all appealing after I finish college. I mean I'll be 26 or 27 and thats a little late to get started.

a: obviously you mean ground combat right? if so yes
b: yes
c: yes
d: YES and no, you can't excapt the term "rough necks" so I would say after hours no, on duty yes
e: yes
f: we all do this the same.

I'm in the AF and have NO issues with stating the above, It's not a pride deal, It's just the truth.

The only job I'd take in the Navy is the one I did take, Nuke. I would choose Nuke MM and not ET if I had it to do all over again though.

The air force has lots of good tech jobs, too. Check them out first if you don't want to spend inordinate amounts of time away from friends and family.

Of course in the AF we countered overall toughness with overall intelligence 😛
"It used ta be I couldn't even SPELL marine. Now I are one!" 😀

Former Air Force

Long, hot days spent on Flightlines babysitting Fighters (Aircraft Maintenance Specialist), cold nights spent making sure the planes were 100% O.R.
24 on 48 off working Air Defense Alert (Florida and Iceland)

Lots of good friends(Air Force,Navy, and Marines)

And a BIG Thanks to the Marines for doing our Base Perimeter Security in Southeast Asia.

Very happy with all the Military Services......

Don't be fooled, the Air Force isn't all that smart. 😉 But it's been good for traveling and living overseas in places like Germany. What could be better?
