FEMA is the most powerful agency in the US. If you read thier "crysis time" powers, it is truly scary. I fear them more than a general going maverick.....

First, how can you take a guy seriously who can't even get his first point straight. He begins by discussing this articl and states that the US is going to be attacked by 2013, when in fact the report states

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Terrorists are likely to use a weapon of mass destruction somewhere in the world in the next five years, a blue-ribbon panel assembled by Congress has concluded.

They are more likely to use a biological weapon than a nuclear one -- and the results could be devastating, the chairman of the commission told CNN.

Yeah, it's a small point, but if he can't even get these simple facts straight, imagine what other distortions he's making.

Then, good old Alex Jones goes on to say "I know this is going to be used against American people." How the hell does he "know" that? He doesn't actually provide anything other than FUD.

Then, he goes on to claim that these numbers will rise to 1 million domestic spies? Honestly what the hell is talking about? 3 million environmental spies? How the hell do you take anything he says seriously?

Here are his claims:
- the 20,000 will rise to 1 million domestic spies.
- there will be 3 million environmental spies.
- there will be a "complete" federalization of cities.
- the military and CIA are taking over emergency management.
- army intellignece is spying on peace groups and congress -- "it's all over the news"
- It's a rear-guard action for all the offshore banks that have stolen 7.8 trillion dollars.
- "We are being military and financially conquered"
- All of these new policies state, as their "main mission," "the oppression and domination of the American people against civil war, insurrection, rioting."
- The army is going to be stationed in every town and city and respond to every disaster.
- Congress was threatened by the Secretary of Treasure and the Fed chairman. They were going to declare martial law and pass it anyway.
- Banks would be declaring martial law via PPD 51.
- Only executive and private groups that surround them have authority.
- "90% of it is about openly oppressing people" -- it referring to these new laws.
- "bankers and internationalists can loot us and prevent us from ever bringing them to justice."
- The president is a dictator.
- In 1996 Texas towns "attacked by the army," who would buy buildings and blow them up as psychological warfare. There were foreign troops involved and presidential directives ordering all of this. He interviewed the San Antonio police chief and suddenly "Delta Force came in with big bags of money and tried to buy him and the mayor off." ... "let us run a covert takeover."
- "there is a shadow government takeover for the last thirty years and it's coming to a head now."

That's just in part one.

How can you take this shit seriously?

edit: excuse the typos. I was typing as I was listening. And yes, I listened to the whole first video :(

He snipped out the main reason for this though. The main reason is to have some troops ready for any natural disasters.

Let's say there is a major earthquake in Cali next week. This unit could quickly be moved into the area to assist with security and food distribution etc. Under the old system there were no units sitting at the ready in case of emergency.

BTW active duty military units were used in NO after Katrina so this is not without precedence.

and that worked out superbly!

actually it did. it was the regular government workers that screwed the pooch.
the military was the only organization that could communicate, rescue people, and deliver supplies.

Maybe the government knows that the nation's economic situation is far worse than what it and the media have been saying? Perhaps the government already projects that the United States will become a third world country rife with civil strife?

There will be a security detail with each soup & bread line at every Walmart.

I know I'm going to get jumped for "source", but I live in a little town of a little over 6000 people in central western virginia. I'll try and reference the source for you tomorrow. We have two tiny newspapers available locally here and they are published once a week. Last wednesday, one of the papers , the one that carries more news about our little town of Buena Vista, VA carried an article that says the Buena Vista City Council has OKed a request from the U.S. Marine Corps to practice in December - day and night urban assault landings on our High School football field, a large open park in the area and a third site that I would hve to find that "old" paper to name. They will apparently use helicopters, and or the Osprey.

As far as I know, I have never before heard of the military practicing "war" games in or around a civilain city or town. Would there be any connection between the OP's story and these happenings in little Buena Vista, VA?

Could it have anything to do with the rush on gun stores and the momentous sales of assault type weapons on the premise that everyone wants to buy their gun before Obama takes away their right to buy or own them? The fact that much of civilian America is an armed camp not unlike a military garrison?
