Army Charges 7 in Sex-For-Money Web Site

Army Charges 7 in Sex-For-Money Web Site

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Army has charged seven members of the celebrated 82nd Airborne Division with engaging in sex for money on a Web site, authorities said Friday.

Three of the soldiers face courts-martial on charges of sodomy, pandering and wrongfully engaging in sexual acts for money while being filmed, according to a statement released Friday by the military.

Four other soldiers, who were not named, received nonjudicial punishments.

The Army has recommended that all be discharged.

While the charges do not mention the name of the site, the division has said previously it was investigating allegations that soldiers appeared on a gay porn Web site. A spokesman for the division said Friday the charges are a result of that investigation.

This was sounding pretty cool until I read the "gay porn" part.

I met a few hot little corporals when I was at a NATO base in the navy.

Yes, the Army doesn't ask, but they do have a policy of statements, acts, and marriages.

If someone makes a statement, commits an act, or gets married in a homosexual relationship, you are punished.

Gay porn obviously qualifies as an act

If they violated regulations present in the UCMJ, then they deserve to be punished for such. These people volunteered to serve in the military and so freely agreed to do so. Like it or not, the military is held to different standards of conduct than the general population of the US.

that is certainly one way to get out of the military.

True, but it can certainly come back to haunt you later on, particularly when a future employer asks if you were discharged honorably from the military.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm NOT condoning their actions in ANY WAY!

And I did time in the Marines, I'm VERY aware of the U.C.M.J. 😉

Get busted in a gay porn ring there too?

If you are in the military and engage in any sexual activity besides the boring guy on top stuff, you are violating the UCMJ. Girl on top = sodomy.... Anal = sodomy..... Oral = sodomy... Using sexual devices = sodomy. So What????

Yes true, but most do so in the privacy of their own home and not post it all over the internet for all to see. As a Soldier I hate to see stuff like this. It gives the media anpther excuse to put a negative spotlight on our great institution.

Yeah, these charges have less to do with "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and more to do with the prostitution over the internet for all to see. Unless, that's what I'll think until someone shows me a case of an active duty soldier who participated in straight sex for money on a website and was not brought up on charges.

Nobody asked, but they certainly told.

I feel sorry for the division and particularly for the 508th PIR down the smaller units these guys were in. Their former buddies are going to be razzed mercilessly for this. This incident gives a whole new meaning to the term "buddy f-ing"!
