err that story misses a lot of detail... what exactly did the armed guy do?

Well, according to one reading of the thread title, he killed two people in a local bank, and then stopped a robber.

Pronoun and subject agreement > Me. :(

But screw their policy, if Mr Customer wasn't packing(legally) more people would have died.

Brilliant, so only criminals are allowed to have guns there.

The customer was heading to the bank, heard the gun fire, went back to his car to get his gun, and confronted the robber.

Edit:

A customer approaching the bank heard gunshots and retrieved his gun from his car. The customer confronted the gunman as he left and was later hailed as a hero for trying to hold him at bay until authorities arrived.

After the customer got his gun (from his car, outside the bank), he held up the robber but the robber returned inside the bank and retrieved a manager as a hostage. The manager stumbled and that's what allowed the deputy to get off a shot. It seems that the robber was on his way out but because of the customer, he went back inside and got a hostage.

Are you consciously trying to pick up the slack now that DVK916 is banned? Why can't you stay in P&N and stop trolling off topic?

I'd like to borrow a quote from Mr. Adam Sandler:

Why don't you just go to P&N? That's your HOME! Are you too good for your home? ANSWER ME!

Had not the manager stumbled, more people could have been killed. The armed customer didn't do much actually, if anything, he could have instigated the robber to kill more people by forcing him to go back to the bank.

Reading comprehension FTL : according to the article, The customer retrieved his weapon from his car, so HE was in compliance with that policy.

Sheriff's deputies on patrol passed the bank and saw people fleeing. They stopped to investigate. The gunman re-entered the bank.

Did you even read the article?

The customer kept him busy and didn't allow him to flee until the police got there. Once they did, he had no choice but to go back inside, putting the lives of the rest of the people inside at risk. If the manager doesn't help disarm the suspect, he possibly dies also.

I'm all for CCW, but this is not a shining example of things gone right.

Yeah, and the media reports all the facts because they are totally unbiased without an agenda.

That does NOT say
I was glad that customer had a gun.

I read it as him saying "Glad the customer was armed, so the thug got delayed to be taken out." As, him being glad the customer had a gun and delayed the robber that shot two people. And roses for the employees meaning he mourned their loss.

Reading comprehension FTL.

In conversation, the bolded text comes off as the true meaning, adding insult to injury when they even dare say the rest.

Is it impossible to state more than one opinion?

I agree that more and more people will be turning to crime as desperation sets in.

That doesn't mean I can't be glad a good citizen was able to delay the robber/killer, and it doesn't deny the fact that I am saddened by someone getting shot.

Why don't you just read what is written, comprehend it, and stay out of trying to interpret your perceived "true" meanings behind other people's forum posts.

Why is he scum? I agree with his post 100%.

Because the subtext of his post is that it's Bush's fault that people died, just like it's Bush's fault that his neighbor killed his wife and kids.
