i hope its not being rushed and actually works unlike ARMA 1.
Arma1, even the developers admit it was not a finished game. It was only in its alpha stages when it was released. However, it was ether release it when they did - or go bankrupt. With Arma2, they've had years to work on it, the funds from Arma1, and started with a firm foot on the ground already with Arma2's engine architecture branching off from Arma1.
So by all accounts, it hasn't been rushed.

Arma1 was one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever had the misfortune of playing. Think I'll give this one a miss unless it gets stellar reviews.

Let me ask a question...does this game take forever to get into the action and then die immediately? if so no thanks
I really like hardcore realistic fps but i cant stand the gigantic map scale maps because its just a huge waste of time...i dont want to spend my entire day just to have a couple confrontations

OFP2 will be more of a "Realistic Arcade Game" than Arma2 yes. I'm not sure what kind of comparisons your looking to make but OFP2 will still have it (Like in OFP1 and Arma) where 1-2 shots will kill you no matter what. (No regenerating health or health kits to be seen at all in the entire game).
OFP2 will not have flyable planes like Arma2 though... 🙁

If this game takes forever to set up the action only to have the threat of dying quickly, then I will get it. I hate games that have nothing but action in your godlike character, and Operation Flashpoint was one of the few that actually was fun for me (Rainbow Six and Hitman were a couple others that did this well too.) If it is as Lumberg wants, I will have no interest in it.

ARMA2 isn't what I though... My friend purchased it from a German online site after which he sent me a copy to try out. Long story short, with fairly good hardware it don't run too well, the AI is buggy as fuck, all in all it's no fun the way it is right now. Maybe the patches will fix this in the future but for now I don't recommend it.
FYI I have a GTX 285 SC and an i7 920 CPU, and it still ran poorly. It's sad, I was looking forward to it. However I still have hope with patches it will work better.
